Work Life and Home LifeHaving a home-based network marketing business has many advantages, but one of the dangers you run into when running a work-from-home business is keeping work and home life separate.  It’s all too easy to get caught up in the perks of working from home, taking leisurely time with your day’s tasks until, before you know it, it’s past eleven at night and you’re still working.  To prevent this issue from becoming a habit, you will need to establish some boundaries between your working life and your home life.

Separating Space

Creating a dedicated space that you reserve only for working is good practice.  This workspace can put you in a productive and practical mindset conducive to your business.  Adding visual barriers, like a wall or a curtain, is another great psychological trick you can use to keep your working area separated from your living area.  Additionally, the other members of your household should be made aware of the need to respect your space when you are working.

Separating Time

We’ve discussed before why managing your time is important to success, but you’ll also want to make sure your time is well-separated between work and home tasks.  Create a strict working schedule and stick to it, both when arriving to work and when leaving work.  Make it clear to your friends that your working time is not to be disturbed, and don’t take personal calls or have someone come hang out during your work hours.  You should also avoid mixing living tasks, like laundry or doing dishes, with working tasks; save those for when you are off work in the evening.
